The traditional herbal remedy, Centella asiatica, shows remarkable effects related to cognitive function and mood in preclinical models.  Its abundant triterpene constituents are usually reported as the active compounds.

However,  studies conducted by Dr. Soumyanath and her colleagues, show that polyphenolic caffeoylquinic acid isomers also play an important role in this herb’s neurotropic effects in vitro and in vivo.
